We are a consulting engineering firm with 40 years of experience in facilities planning and engineering design for municipalities, state agencies, cultural institutions, and private clients. Our offices are located in Blacksburg, Charlottesville, Hampton Roads, and Richmond, Virginia. We provide civil, environmental, geotechnical, solid waste, and structural engineering; surveying and subsurface utility engineering; site planning and engineering; and construction inspection services. Draper Aden Associates is a Virginia SWaM certified small business enterprise.

History

In 1972 two college friends, Joe Draper and Bill Aden formed the partnership of Draper Aden Associates in Blacksburg, Virginia and began a civil engineering firm with six employees. That partnership flourished and has grown into a multi-location, full service consulting engineering firm.

Adhering to their original objective of “helping our clients succeed,” Joe and Bill nurtured the company throughout the late ‘70s and ‘80s as steady growth marked the firm’s development. As new specialists joined the firm, new disciplines were added until Draper Aden Associates began offering a dozen core services and an ever growing variety of specialty services to meet our clients’ demands. Offices were added in Richmond (1985), Charlottesville (2001) and Hampton Roads (2002) and have allowed us to better serve our clients throughout Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region.
